Buying or selling a ranch represents one of the most significant financial decisions people will ever make during their lifetime. This is not your average Real Estate transaction, and it takes an above average Realtor that specializes in the Farm and Ranch Industry. My total attention is on the Farm and Ranch business in West Texas. I watch it so you don’t have to. I have been in the Farm and Ranch industry for over three decades, and I have made it my personal goal to deliver the best service and knowledge of the market I possibly can.

My aspiration is to provide the most excellent service to my clients in order to make the purchasing, selling, management, and ownership of land a positive and rewarding experience.

I earned my real estate license in 1993 and hit the ground running. I started with a small firm called Carriage Company Realtors and stayed there for a year. I then moved on to Re/Max of Midland where I remained until Legacy Real Estate purchased the company in 2003. I have been with Legacy Real Estate ever since. My position and specialty with the company is Farm and Ranch Real Estate in the West Texas and South Eastern New Mexico areas. I do not travel outside of this area often as the Farm and Ranch Industry is very specialized and requires definite attention.

The major factor in the Ranch Real Estate Business and what drives this market is the Hunting/Wildlife Industry. Keeping up with the new trends for producing a better wildlife habitat and educating those that are buying a ranch for the first time or the hundredth time is worth the effort for me. I feel there is no better way than to use my personal experience to better serve my clients.

I am partners in an excavation business and have countless hours on machinery in Ranch Management. I have worked several projects with Government agencies dealing with water improvements, brush control, and erosion control. I have knowledge in improving grass for the best possible crops to be planted and harvested for the current conditions on an area.

A major factor in Ranching is the livestock, (i.e. cattle, sheep, goats) and wild game. My family has been in the cattle business my entire life. For the most part we were a Registered Operation producing Limousin Bulls. We held a production sale every year guaranteeing at least 150 to 225 bulls. Our cow average was about 1,100 to 1,500 head year round. I have a great deal of hands on experience with artificial insemination and high weight gains on feed lot cattle.

I have two boys that mean the world to me who love to hunt and fish as much as I do.

We will always be available for personal service by phone or email, so feel free to contact us with questions regarding the Farm and Ranch Real Estate Market any time!

Sincerely,
Caleb Matott
